Corporate and Social Responsibility

At Mackin we recognise our responsibility for the social impact that we have on communities, and our corporate responsibility is integral to what we do.

To this end, and to ‘help and give something back’, Mackin supports, and is actively involved in, a number of different programmes within the community.

The three core elements of the Mackin corporate and social responsibility programme are:

This year’s chosen charity in Ireland is The Rebel Wheelers and the US is Shelter for Dogs.

The October the US Seattle team took part in the ‘Walk to End Alzheimers’. Here in Ireland we held a coffee morning on 28th November in our Head Office in Cork to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

We have involvement with the Transition Year students in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál in Blarney, Co. Cork.

We carry out a general Health and Safety and Manual Handling Awareness seminar, prior to the students taking up work placements. Due to the success of this programme, we hope to introduce other aspects of the programmes to final year students, and to extend it to additional schools.

We have recently been involved in the Cork Life Centre, talking with young adults about business and the growth of Mackin.

Mackin is committed to protecting natural resources and reducing our environmental footprint.

We have focused our environmental sustainability efforts on the reduction of the use of paper throughout our organisation. The areas in which we can make the largest impact are in recycling of packaging and solid waste, and also through the use of the cloud in order to reduce our reliance on paper.
